REINZ are proud to be able to supply members, media and the general public with monthly statistics press releases. The statistics in these press releases come from our member companies who kindly supply their data to REINZ each month.
The statistics give an up to date account of the previous month’s activity in the New Zealand real estate market. REINZ produces three regular press releases covering residential, rural and lifestyle statistics
Latest residential data
The most up to date source of real estate data in New Zealand, announced today that there were 8,174 dwelling sales nationwide
Latest rural data
Data released today by the Real Estate Institute of NZ (“REINZ”) shows there were 10 fewer farm sales (-2.9%) for the three months ended September 2015 than for the three months ended September 2014.
REINZ in the press
REINZ regularly supply media with information on a query basis. Due to this REINZ is regularly quoted in the Press. To view some of the media where REINZ is quoted.
Latest REINZ media releases
In addition to the monthly statistics press releases REINZ also prepares press releases on a sporadic basis based on trends viewed in statistics. To view recent press releases from REINZ.
The team at REINZ work as promptly as possible to answer all media requests. Due to the volume of statistical data REINZworks with sometimes the fastest approach is to call or email your query and a REINZ team member will research the response and come back to you.

At REINZ we aim to provide as much information as possible to buyers and sellers and to our members. We have put together helpful information and useful tools and phone numbers from other industry bodies. It is important to note that REINZ is not the regulatory body for the industry. This role is that of the REA. However, REINZ does promote best practice and works to upskill members so they can provide top service to buyers and sellers.
From 1 January 2019, all real estate agents across New Zealand will have new obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Act.
The process of selling and buying real estate can be overwhelming and stressful especially when considering the amount of paperwork and preparation involved with these transactions.
